One evening in 2010 while driving to the Issaquah Community Center to teach a fitness class, Kim saw a long line of people stretching around the corner of a nearby building.  She noticed the same line again the next week—then again and again every week until she couldn’t get it out of her head.  Kim later learned the building was the IFCB, and these were food-insecure seeking help.  The image of the line is one Kim will never forget, and it inspired her to take action.  Kim later became a weekly volunteer for the Groceries to Go program, and also volunteered to support the Holiday Gift Barn, Turkey Trot, the Summer Lunch Program, and Stamp out Hunger.  Kim joined the IFCB as a full-time staff member in 2020 and is driven by a desire to make a positive impact in its clients’ lives and in the community that she has called home for the past two decades.

Prior to IFCB, Kim worked as an elementary school teacher, then in the non-profit sector in human resources and development.  Most recently, she owned and operated a small fitness business.  Outside of the office, she is committed to health and fitness and loves to share that with others by teaching dance cardio, strength training, and yoga/Pilates fusion classes. Her favorite time of year is summer where you will most often find her boating, wake surfing, or paddle boarding on Lake Sammamish with her husband Gavin and her teenage daughter, Phoebe.
