Happy New Year! As we look forward to the warmer days and fresh blooms ahead, I hope you all have been finding joy       in community throughout the challenges of these winter months.  

  As we reflect on all the changes our community faced in 2025, I invite you to celebrate with us the things that you helped make   possible through your steadfast support. In 2025, over 1,000 new households shopped in our market or received emergency food   services. Our market served an average of approx. 1,150 households a month, providing quality fresh produce, dairy and meat items,   culturally appropriate foods, and even diapers and toiletries. Our community donated approximately 1,000,000 pounds of food and hygiene items and volunteered over 26,000 hours of their time. Wow! So much for us all to celebrate! 

We are now two months into 2026, and we are thrilled to see our community continuing to rally around the food bank to help connect neighbors to healthy food, vital resources, and essential services. Being responsive to the needs of our East King County neighbors requires meeting some big goals. As our services and outreach expand, so does our need for deeper community engagement.  

While our team has been working hard to maintain a safe and comfortable space for recipients, we have continued to learn more about our neighbors and how best to serve them. We are constantly evaluating our services to ensure they meet the needs of our community as effectively as possible. In the coming months, we will be working towards increasing opportunities for community engagement, continuing to refine programs to best meet the growing need,  deepening our partnerships with organizations like the Community Clothing Closet,  improving client, staff and volunteer safety, and preparing for our future facility expansion project.
